The principle driving forces behind creating this new body of work were two interlocking books, Psychology and Alchemy by Carl Jung and The Cat by Marie-Louise Von Franz.
Drawing from these two sources created a framework from which I could project various scenes and scenarios.
There are seven stages of spiritual alchemy; if a person can complete them, it is thought that they will reach an enlightened form of consciousness. There are parallels here to Buddhism and Hinduism. Continue reading “The Cat Becomes A Fountain & Other Stories”

Jelly Green has brought us a windowful of wonders. Tour buses also bring sightseers to look at it. It’s a garden of delights. This time last year she was heavy with child, and as an expectant mother she’d been advised not to have the Covid vaccination. David Hollington’s Florilegium continues in the Rowley Gallery window through November. The first thirteen paintings of an alphabet of flowers, from A is for Aquilegia to M is for Monarda, though some have sold and been taken away, others have sold and remain for the duration, and others still remain to be sold. I drove to work early but I arrived late. I’d forgotten about all the extra school-run traffic. It was 9:30 when I got to Notting Hill Gate and my ticket was for 10 o’clock at Piccadilly. I walked through the park, dodging cyclists, dazzled by trees, energised by the green space on our doorstep that I so often overlook, thinking I must do this more often, but knowing I wouldn’t.
