Barjac brocante, hot day
Dear Chris, I’ve just got back from Le Gard & Ardèche. Here are some sketches from my trip. I bought some old Livres de Poche paperbacks and painted on the pages. I like the quality of the paper. Hoping all is well, good wishes, Chris.
Barjac brocante
Dear Chris, here are some more pages from my paperback sketchbooks. I used some French ‘Livre de Poche’ paperbacks: Roger Peyrefitte’s ‘Les Amours Singulières’ and Gilbert Cesbron’s ‘Avoir Été’. I like the quality of the paper, it takes gouache paint very well. I travelled around France this summer for about 4 weeks painting & drawing things I saw: hilltop villages, vineyards, markets, brocantes, Marseille, La Grande Motte and its concrete holiday blocks and beach, rivers and landscapes.
