Paintings From My Shed

On Saturday 2nd March we opened a new window display of pictures by Jonathan Gibbs, and despite our usual habit of not having a launch party, Jonathan promised to bring his guitar along, so how could we refuse. He also produced these gorgeous invitation cards. Please call in if you’re passing. Go out of your way if you’re not. We’d love to see you.

It proved to be a great success. Here are a few scrapbook snapshots…

It also prompted a few Instagram posts

Opening today, Jonathan’s exhibition, Paintings From My Shed. 10am until 4pm. Includes wood engravings too, also music. Jonathan will bring his guitar. If you come early afternoon you might catch him playing it. Quite possibly Jonny Hannah too with his guitar. Rock & Rowley

Jonathan also invited Jonny Hannah to help out with proceedings.

Quel temps fait-il à Paris?
. . . that is the question.
Yesterday afternoon, Jonny Hannah & Jonny Gibbs played this selection of music at the Rowley Gallery as sunbeams fell upon Kensington Church Street, London

EAST COAST LINE
Wood engraving

The East Coast Line is the Edinburgh to London railway, it’s Jonathan’s route home, the track of the Flying Scotsman and a track on Jonathan’s eponymous CD (which can be won in the Rowley Gallery raffle – see earlier post). It’s also the title of this splendid wood engraving, included in his present Rowley exhibition, Paintings From My Shed.

  1. Chris,
It looks like a wonderful time was had by all. I wish I could have been there. A nice beginning of the Spring season.
